16 Bold Predictions for 2017 (AFC)
With the upcoming season quickly approaching, much is unknown. Anything can happen during the twists and turns of an NFL season. Who knows… maybe the Browns will make the Super Bowl! See what I foresee for your team below.
Buffalo Bills – Jonathan Williams will be starting by Week 17. Williams, who has shown flashes in the past is primed for a starting role sitting behind LeSean McCoy who has racked up over 2,000 career touches and seems to always be beaten up.
Miami Dolphins – Ryan Tannehill will be a QB1. With a year under Clyde Christensen’s offense and Devante Parker expected to take another step forward, Tannehill has all the tools necessary.
New England Patriots – Gronk will not be a TE1. The best ability is availability and Gronk has not played a full season since 2011.
New York Jets – Whoever the Jets QB(s) are next year, they’ll be a top 15 QB. The Jets will be in garbage time a lot. And garbage time = fantasy points.
Baltimore Ravens – Kenneth Dixon will have 1,000 all purpose yards. A temporary filler RB in Terrance West will not keep the talented Dixon from breaking through. Once they realize his pass catching abilities, Dixon will be able to learn from one of the all time greatest receiving RBs, Danny Woodhead.
Cincinnati Bengals – Joe Mixon lights the league on fire, Todd Gurley style. Remember Gurley’s incredible 1st year? Well Joe Mixon’s season will begin like that.
Cleveland Browns – Isaiah Crowell will not live up to his ADP. Don’t get me wrong, I love Crowell this season. But the hype is out of control. As history has proven, a running game with no aerial threat will eventually get shut down seeing defenses load the box. Wherever his astronomical ADP settles, I can guarantee you he will be overrated.
Pittsburgh Steelers – James Conner leads the team in rushing yards. Le’Veon Bell’s inability to stay on the field between injury and marijuana issues will thrust Conner into a bellcow role.
Houston Texans – JJ Watt catches the most TDs on the team. I know, I know, crazy right? But the Texans have used Watt in the red zone in the past, and we all know rookie QBs love their TEs.
Indianapolis Colts – Kamar Aiken scores more points than Donte Moncrief. Aiken will fill Moncrief’s role once Moncrief gets injured early in the season.
Jacksonville Jaguars – Leonard Fournette averages below 4 yards per carry this year. Fournette struggled when not given space to get a head of steam at LSU. I’m not sure the Jaguars O line can create the push needed for Fournette.
Tennessee Titans – Corey Davis is not the WR1 for his team. Eric Decker, Rishard Matthews, Delanie Walker, and Taywan Taylor all will eat away at Davis’s target share.
Denver Broncos – Jamaal Charles has 350 rushing yards total vs. the Chiefs. They saw him terrorize the rest of the league for years, so expect the Broncos to give the Chiefs a taste of their own medicine.
Kansas City Chiefs – Kelce repeats as TE1. Nobody seems to believe this is possible, but the departure of Jeremy Maclin sets Zeus up for another elite year.
Oakland Raiders – Beast Mode goes beast mode. The Raiders O line is easily top 5 in the league and will allow us all to see Lynch be a top 6 RB. If Latavius Murray could succeed, the multi time All-Pro is primed for dominance.
Los Angeles Chargers – Philip Rivers has the best season of his career. So many weapons in LA. So many.
