Josh McCown – $4500 – Cheapest starting QB you will ever find, and he’s going up against the Browns. The Cleveland Browns have given up 250 yards and 2 scores to all QBs so far this season. Vegas has this game as a pick em’, Forte is out and the Browns have been tougher on RBs than on WRs. Josh McCown should find value and has great upside to reach 4x or even 5x his value in this matchup.
Brian Hoyer – $4700 –Brian Hoyer in cash. Now this is really only if you have the stomach for it…Which I do! At this price, he needs just 14 points to make cash value. I think Vegas has this game wrong. There will be points scored and it should go over the 44 point total. This is a cheap play and should open up the top plays of the slate at other positions.
Aaron Rodgers – $8100 – This is the most expensive Aaron Rodgers has been all season. Probably one of the best spots he’s gonna be in all year. His RBs are banged up and Ty Mont is still questionable, this game is going to be a shootout. Vegas has this at a 53 point total. 300 yards and 3 TDs is not far from his grasp in this matchup.
Frank Gore – $4400 – I am hoping he ends up having a very low ownership this week. He has not done much more than a couple TDs this season. However as said above in the Hoyer write-up, this should be a great game for points. Gore has received 12+ carries in every game so far this season and has 3 targets in each of his last two games. At his cheap price and potential volume, he is a sneaky cheap starting RB with great upside.
Bilal Powell – $6200 – Huge price jump after his monster performance against the Jaguars last week. Way better matchup this week against the Browns. Matt Forte has already been ruled out, whenever Forte is out, Powell is an RB2 with easily RB1 upside. Even with the price increase, Powell is well worth it on a PPR site like DK.
Le’Veon Bell – $9500 – Bell’s second appearance in this write-up. Most expensive guy on the slate and he is well worth it. He Blew up in what was thought to be a “tough matchup” for 37 DK points! Another “tough matchup” on tap for Bell this week against the Jaguars, this time at home as 7.5 point favorites. He will get 90% of the RB snaps once again, along with several targets in the passing game. Don’t be surprised if he puts up another 150 yards and 2 TDs. Get him in your lineup!
Robbie Anderson/Jermaine Kearse – $4000 – $4500 – To stack with McCown, one if not both could have a great game at their respective prices. Most ownership is going to be on ASJ and he is a great play this week. However, the Browns have been tougher on RBs than WRs this season. One of them is good for a TD this week. I will lean Anderson because of cost, but as we have seen, Kearse has multi-TD upside any week.
Dez Bryant – $6500 – Get outta here! How is Dez this cheap in a PPR format? There is no corner on the Packers that can cover Dez. While the Packers D is busy with Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas will be peppering Dez with targets in what is Vegas’ highest game total of this slate. Dez should finally get back on track in this matchup.
Randall Cobb – $6600 – On the other side of the ball, at 6600, Randall Cobb is just too cheap for this matchup with Davante Adams all but ruled out. Most ownership will be on Jordy Nelson, as he is cheaper than the top 3 (AB, ODB and AJG) with Mike Evans already played and Julio Jones on his bye week. Jordy will be highly owned. Fade Jordy and play Cobb for a $1500 discount.
Antonio Gates/Hunter Henry – $3300/$3800 – Clearly a matchup play. As you can see below, the Giants do not cover the TE position.
Week 1: Witten 7/59/1
Week 2: Ebron 5/42/1
Week 3: Ertz 8/55/1
Week 4: Brate 4/80/1 and OJ 2/63/1
Look for both Antonio Gates and Hunter Henry to score on Sunday.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins – $3700 – ASJ has really been coming on ever since he came back from his suspension. Sober and in shape, He is showing what many people thought they had in him years ago as a TE for the Bucs. Another excellent matchup against the TE. The Browns another team that cannot cover the TE and McCown loves to throw it to his big TE. This gives you a great game stack for very cheap.
Buffalo Bills – $2600 – I’m beginning to hate defenses. It doesn’t matter if you pay 4k for a top defense or punt the position and go for a $2200 one. I always end up with 4 points or so. This week go with the Bills, they’re terribly underpriced. They’re road-dogs and this could be why they’re so cheap. This is also why no one will be on them. They’re good for a few sacks this week as the Bengals have been struggling.
