Week 9 Home

Redraft Risers and Fallers – Week 9

Devin Funchess
Before the trade deadline, Kelvin Benjamin was traded to Buffalo. That means Devin Funchess is now Carolina’s number 1 WR. After his worst game of the season, he’s going to bounce back against a Falcons defense this week, who just let Robbie Anderson put up 104 receiving yards and a TD. Also, the Panthers 2017 2nd round pick Curtis Samuel, should become part of the offense too. But Devin Funchess is now a solid WR2 for fantasy.

Marlon Mack
Chuck Pagano has finally come to his senses by using Marlon Mack more and more over the past few weeks, then in week 8, he finally out snapped Frank Gore 39 to 36 snaps. In these past two weeks he’s had 16 rushing attempts for 53 yards and also had 7 catches for 76 receiving yards and a TD. Since Mack became the passing back and has been gaining more touches in general, look for him to continue to be used this week against Houston, where the Texans look be having a big lead against the colts. Go make an offer in your Dynasty leagues for Mack before his price gets too high.

Alex Collins
The second year running back looks like he just took control of the Ravens backfield. In week 8 Alex was used more and he looked really good against the dolphins. He had 18 rushing attempts for a career high 113 rushing yards. Also Alex had 2 catches for 20 yards. After having a strong week 8, he gets a matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Plug him into your lineups this week.

The Houston Texans Offense
This year the Texans offense is a prime example of how much a quarterback matters. Before Deshaun came along, the Houston Texans struggled to move the ball with the same team but different QB. But then Deshaun came along and he has been terrific. Same receivers and starting running back, that offense has been consistent and everyone is having a bounce back season. Against the Seahawks last week, Deshaun Watson had over 400 passing yards and 4 touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns went to Will Fuller and the rest to Lamar Miller, and Deandre Hopkins. Nuke Hopkins and Fuller had a total of 12 catches for 349 receiving yards. In week 9, they get a torchable Colts defense. This offense is full of “must start” guys at this point.

Jameis Winston
Famous Jameis was not “famous” in week 8 and will not be for the rest of the season. He might have some streaming weeks but I would not trust him. He is dealing with a sprained ac joint in his throwing shoulder and he is in danger of missing week 9. Last week against the panthers, Jameis had 210 passing yards, 2 interceptions. This shows that he is suffering from his injury. If Jameis plays in week 9, he has a matchup against a Saints defense that has been sneakily good against the pass over the past few weeks. Now would be a good time to go throw a low-ball offer out there if you need a QB.

Eric Decker
After having his best game of the season in week 6 , where he had 7 catches for 88 yards. Eric Decker did not follow up with a good game in week 7. With Cleveland’s number one cornerback Jason McCourty out, Eric only had 2 targets and 0 catches. After the bye this week It looks like rookie receiver Corey Davis will be coming back from injury. Eric Decker will be losing targets and will probably be Tennessee’s wide receiver 3. Stay away from a falling Eric Decker.

Wendell Smallwood
In week 8 Wendell only had 2 touches for a total of 14 yards. During that game Corey Clement had 10 rushes for 54 yards. After the trade deadline happened on Tuesday, the Eagles traded for Jay Ajayi. Now Wendell has definitely taken back seat to Jay Ajayi, LeGarrette Blount and Corey Clement. Don’t pick up Smallwood and if you have him drop him.

George Kittle
These past two weeks for the rookie have been hard for him. He’s been losing snaps to Cole Hikutini and Garrett Celek. Kittle only has 3 catches for 38 yards though those two weeks. The 49ers just traded for Jimmy Garoppolo before the trade deadline, but he isn’t expected to play till week 12. George Kittle’s stock until then is falling.
